Medical Assistance Transportation Program
(MATP) Medical Assistance Transportation Program is a transportation service funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. Consumers with Medical Assistance are eligible to receive transportation to medical appointments and services covered by Medical Assistance.
To qualify for transportation services under MATP, you must be enrolled in one of the following plans:
MCTA staff will work with the passenger to determine the most cost effective and appropriate transportation option for the individual. These services include:
Fixed Route Service - is available Monday through Saturday, but some routes have limited service. Please check our 'Stallions' part of the website for more information.
Mileage Reimbursement - is available to consumers who have access to a car. MCTA will reimburse the customer $.12 per mile for each eligible trip. Click here to download form.
Shared Ride Service - is available to qualified individuals who live 1/4 mile or more away from the fixed route. It also provides service to areas outside the county.
How to Enroll
All riders must be registered in advance. You may phone our office at (570) 839-6282 x 434 to request an application or you may download it from this page. We apologize that we are unable to accept your application electronically at this time. Please return your completed and signed application with clear photo copy(s) of your Medical Assistance Card(s) to:

Additional family members with Medical Assistance may be included on the same application. Applications are normally process within 72 hours from the point we receive it.
