APTA: Public transit users save $9,700 yearly
Savings are based on the cost of commuting by public transportation, compared to the cost of owning and driving a vehicle, which includes the July 24 average national gas price ($3.48 per gallon- reported by AAA) and the national unreserved monthly parking rate.

2011 News Happenings

Pocono Pony Visits Senior Centers and Clubs for the Holidays

Over the 2011 Holiday Season, the marketing team visted 10 senior centers and clubs, greeting more than 500 area seniors with trays of cookies to thank them for their patronage and to spread a little holiday cheer.

Historic Holiday Tour for Seniors

December 13, 2011, seniors from local senior centers and clubs, enjoyed an historic tour of the Grey Towers Mansion in Milford, PA. The Pocono Pony was their transportation means to a day out on the town using our new Pike Loop Service.

Shared Ride Driver Appreciation Day

On October 28th, 2011, the marketing team at MCTA hosted a "Shared Ride Driver Appreciation Day" honoring Shared Ride drivers for outstanding performance and an all time record high of 6,190 trips served during the month of August 2011.
